Dear Beth Granger, My name is Bob Pardon, and my wife is Judy. We really appreciate finding your blog and your heart-felt description of life in the COJ, and your continuing journey of recovery from the trauma (physically, psychologically, and spiritually) you have sustained. For 30 years my wife and I have had the privilege of ministering to scores of survivors from the COJ and GCC, both first and second generation. Up to a few years ago, we operated the only long-term residential facility (MeadowHaven) for survivors of various destructive cults like the COJ, and many have come from this group. The damaged sustained by the ex-members has been massive and tragic, and you are right, nobody leaves a group like the COJ unscathed.

I commend you for your honesty and vulnerability. In the wake of Aaron's death, you are helping many, many other survivors who share your same feelings/experiences, but struggle articulating such. That is so important because it offers/gives hope to those whose lives are filled with hopelessness and despair. If there is anything that my wife or I can do to help you or others, please do let us know. You are in our prayers. Sincerely, Bob and Judy Pardon

Oh Beth, your blog is so heartfelt and poignantly written. So many hearts are broken over Aaron's demise. You are so brave in expressing your own background and the effect that it had on you and many others. So many are suffering from the aftermath of GCC and CofJ. I hope your blog will be read by many as a "wake up call." Sending Love. xoxo 🥰 😘
